a quiet exit from Scorpio

It’s been a good week for us, and yesterday was a New Moon, right at the very beginning of Sagittarius. As someone (I think it was the rather wonderful Jeff Jawer) once said, when the Sun goes into Sagittarius it is going somewhere, almost doesn’t matter where, so long as it is out of Scorpio. It feels a bit like that, though somewhat muted. It is time to get going, and get out a bit somehow, or at least get on.

There was a little line up of planets at the New Moon, and it went Mercury, Saturn (in Scorpio), then Sun, Moon and Venus (in Sagittarius). Probably the involvement of Saturn (and Mercury still being in Scorpio) makes it still feel heavy, but something has shifted, and the Sun and Venus are going to keep on pulling away. Mars and Pluto also separated from their conjunction in Capricorn, so that has defused something, though they are still both square Uranus in Aries, so that isn’t exactly relaxed.

Jupiter was squaring the band of planets in Scorpio-Sagittarius, so that keeps pushing it, and pushes out that Sun into its journey into Sagittarius, giving it a bit more restlessness and energy. Sagittarius (where the Sun is placed) is ruled by Jupiter, while Leo (where Jupiter is placed) is ruled by the Sun, so this is another one of those mutual reception things, but the note it resonates at is lighter, more chiming and musical than the Pluto-Mars and Saturn mutual reception that is also still going on. Things feel a bit lighter because there is more going on which actually is lighter, on top of the drone in the background. And we’re quite right to focus on the lighter foreground, because it is happening and moving over the other, and it deserves our attention. We have indeed got out of Scorpio, and it is time to get on.

We also have squares to Sun, Moon and Venus from watery Neptune, so we might be feeling a little susceptible to disturbing flights of imagination, undermining doubts, or just not seeing where we are meant to be going. That’s ok, it will pass, and the fears aren’t meant to be taken as a guide. Sagittarius could do with a sketchy, broad  road map, those lines converging on the horizon, but the kind of vanishing point Pisces does is metaphorically (or sometimes literally) at sea. So it’s time to go; we don’t entirely know where, but it’s ok. Though Uranus in Aries gets the ongoing stress from the square with Pluto, exacerbated by the accompanying square from Mars, it had a nice relationship with Venus and Jupiter at the time of the New Moon, giving some vision and adventurousness. Saturn may feel like it holds things back a bit, Neptune may confuse things, but individual vision actually can see clearly through everything here. Common sense, and respecting reasonable limitations, that should take us through, but don’t get caught up in anything that feels like heavy conflict (that Mars and Pluto). Fuelling up is one thing, drilling for oil is another. Keep it light and sensible. It’s fine to clear out the garage before you take the car out. That is going places too, and sometimes that’s all you need to do right now. The key note is clarity, and a relaxed kinda freedom.

Looking out at the rain that has been falling all day, and the dark night that has fallen since late afternoon, the only place I’m going soon is the kitchen, with the possibility of a glass of something warming.
